FAQs

Q. What subjects do you cover?

I cover Chemistry and Biology at AS and A level. I can hold intensive lessons if needed.

Q. Which exam boards do you cover?

I cover all the common exam boards – Edexcel, AQA, OCR & Salters-Nuffield. Please visit the Subjects page for further information.

Q. Can you help me with 13+, KS3, entrance exams and GCSE?
Sorry, I am presently only teaching A level and above. The only exception to this is GCSE y11 students, whom I might be able to tutor on a semi-intensive basis, depending on availablity.

 Q. How much does it cost?

Please visit the Payment page for further details. The rate also includes question paper sets for each topic.

Q. Cancellation policy

No cancellations are allowed once you commit to weekly tutoring, but you can reschedule lessons with 48 h notice. Four cancellations per year (Sept-June) are allowed on this scheme, any additional cancellations are charged for. I reserve the right to cancel the tuition due to multiple cancellations, disruptive behaviour, or non-payment of tuition fees.

Q. How do I pay for the tuition?

Monthly payments must be made by online bank transfer, in advance of each month.  Please visit the Payment page for futher details

Q. Do you cater for distance learning?

Yes, I am currently teaching online via Zoom and Google Docs. Please contact me for further details.

Q. How do I book a tuition slot?

Most students commit to weekly slots, at a fixed time each week. If you require semi-intensive tuition, then please get in touch to see list of available slots. I also operate a cancellation list for students who only want occasional lessons.

Q. Can I book a trial lesson?

The first lesson is offered at half the regular rate for new students. This gives students a chance to try out online tutoring, and decide if my tutoring style works for them.

Q. Can I book a one-off lesson to help with my homework?

I welcome trial lessons with no further commitment. However, students show marked improvement after 2-3 regular sessions. The best results are obtained from students who work with me for the entire term or year, as we are able to set realistic and achievable goals. Please do not book trial lessons if you need one-time or urgent help with homework, trial lessons are designed to help you understand my teaching style and we may not be able to address specific problems due to time constraints.
